Philosophy

Gan Israel provides our students with a rigorous secular program in English, language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. Children in our school learn the fundamentals of the Hebrew language and the culture and traditions of Jewish observance.

Children are naturally curious, active explorers of their environment. They are eager to learn and to share their knowledge with others. Our curriculum is designed to channel the energy and enthusiasm of the child so as to create an appreciation of and eagerness to participate in traditional Judaism, a recognition of one's own worth and each individual's responsibility to the social group, and a desire for intellectual adventure.

Our teachers are examples of moral adult behavior, conveyors of knowledge, nurturers, and guides. They act in the capacity of mentor, guide, model, coach and leader for our students.
